Lazy loading
Deferring offscreen images or content until they're about to scroll into view.

What It Means
Lazy loading delays downloading an image or piece of content until it's about to enter the viewport, instead of downloading everything on the page up front. Set with a single attribute, loading="lazy", it can meaningfully shorten the initial page load on image-heavy pages.
See it in context on the homepage: Images and Media.
